Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Oklahoma

The first of more than 150 wishes made possible by the more than $1 million raised by Luxaire and its dealer/distributor network was granted to seven-year-old Amber. The first grader from Tuttle, OK, came home from school one day to a surprise pizza party and the bedroom of her dreams.

Amber, a victim of B-Cell leukemia, wished for a room makeover, complete with purple paint, white furniture, a canopy bed, and a beanbag chair. The people at Air Products Supply, an Oklahoma City-based Luxaire distributor, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Oklahoma were only too happy to oblige. Together they added a coat of purple paint to the walls and redecorated Amber's room with a new white canopy bed, dresser, desk and hutch, chair, and nightstand, and coordinated bedding, window treatments, and accessories.

In addition, Mark Ritz, former Luxaire marketing manager, and Brenda Keith, Luxaire indoor product specialist, presented Amber and her two sisters with gift bags filled with goodies and a selection of their favorite things. A pizza party attended by Amber's family, teachers, and friends followed a tour of her new fantasy room.

"This really was a dream come true," said Ritz, "not just for Amber, but for all of us at Luxaire. It's so gratifying to see the efforts of Luxaire dealers and distributors rewarded in the toothless grin of a child. This was the first of many such celebrations to come, and we at Luxaire were delighted to be a part of it."

Air Products Supply enlisted the support of three of their dealers, local businesses and the Oklahoma RedHawks Minor League Baseball organization to raise more than $5,000 to help grant Amber's wish. Their fundraising efforts included an opportunity for consumers to win a Luxaire Home Comfort system, donations collected by local businesses, and a designated Luxaire/Make-A-Wish day with the RedHawks.
