NORMAN, OK – The new Luxaire Performance Plus TS split system central air conditioner, which features the two-stage comfort of twin-single technology, is now available from Luxaire Heating and Air Conditioning here.

The revolutionary compressor design employs two pistons to set new standards in performance and comfort, resulting in the unit’s 12 plus SEER rating. The Luxaire microprocessor’s Twin-Single Control Board regulates first-stage and second-stage operation of the system. Sensing the need for maximum cooling, the system immediately moves into high gear, engaging both pistons. As the cooling load decreases, the system moves to one piston.

"In the one-piston operating mode, the Performance Plus TS sets a new standard for energy savings," explained Doug Widenmann, Luxaire’s brand director. “The compressor uses less than half the energy required by a traditional air conditioner, and the blower fan saves as much as 65 percent in energy usage,” Widenmann elaborated.

Sound levels also decrease as the compressor load and blower speeds are reduced. Up to 60 percent fewer stop-start cycles contribute to the new standards in quiet operation set by the Performance Plus TS. The system’s raised fan coil guard further reduces operating sound levels.

Fewer stop-start cycles mean less wear-and-tear and combine with other features of Performance Plus TS to promise increased reliability and dependability. A plastic protective mesh protects the coil and preserves the appearance of the unit. A durable appliance-like finish offers additional protection, and the fan motor is enclosed for dependability.

TS technology also offers new standards in comfort. Longer, more efficient operating cycles mean consistent temperatures and fewer hot and cold spots. Humidity control and air quality also improve, and air stratification decreases.
